while being out searching for the blood of deer i shot the song "the blood" by housefire came on and led me to all sorts of thoughts. just thinking about how, when we find blood, we get excited, we search for it looking closely at the ground, looking for details like color (dark or bright red), bubbles in the blood, chunks, which direction the splatter is, so we can get a direction the deer was heading. if we start to lose blood we call people to help, some use dogs, others drones, sometimes we take a break and head back out in the morning. we are relentless to look and search for the blood of an animal that will provide 20 meals for our family. do we truly keep a fresh search for the blood of Jesus in our life. do we get excited and tell people? do we invite people to come search with us, to help us? do we search relentlessly day and night, sometimes waking up early or staying up late specifically to search for the trail that Jesus is leading us on, the blood that's worth much more than 20 meals? as Jesus said in john 6:35 I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.
My encouragement is get out there and search, keep focused on the blood of Jesus and stay on
the trail that he's leading you on. when something's got you down or your feeling defeated or like the trail is vanishing, call someone to help get an extra set of eyes on the situation, pray and remember scripture like in hebrews that reminds us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Keep searching, keep applying and keep practicing, go be happy and do good, and remember you are seen, known and loved
